The Mission of
The Rock For Children Foundation

The mission of THE ROCK FOR CHILDREN FOUNDATION is to help fund research for new technology in pediatric brain tumor research, provide support to pediatric brain tumor patients and their families and develop public awareness of this devastating disease.

Toward eradicating brain tumors, the Foundation has developed a productive relationship with The Midwest Children’s Brain Tumor Center under the direction of Dr. John Ruge and his team of experts. Dr. Ruge is chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Lutheran General Children’s Hospital.

In an effort to achieve our goals the following
events are held annually

Annual Golf Outing/Dinner Dance

Enjoy a warm summer day on the golf course at our annual golf outing in July. Tickets are available for golf and dinner or dinner alone. After the sit-down meal, you can join in the fun of the live auction or one of our many raffles. We are proud to announce that in 2003 we had two golfers hit back to back holes in one. Annual 5K Run

The beautiful autumn leaves set the scene for our 3 mile run / walk through historic downtown Ottawa. Whether you are an avid runner or just the casual walker come out and hit the pavement with us. If you are interested in joining us, would like to make a donation or would like to volunteer, give us a call today.

Angel Committee

No child enjoys being in the hospital, especially during the holiday season, so the elves of The Rock For Children Foundation’s Angel Committee surprise all patients on the pediatric floors of different hospitals with a holiday gift. In addition to distributing gifts at hospitals, we also fill Santa’s sack at the annual Midwest Children’s Brain Tumor Center’s annual holiday party. There are currently 200 families attending the center and we happily hand out a gift to each of the children in their families.
